Potential Employee for The MAC

Ideal Candidate

Without a doubt this one is a big deal.......

The energy and constitution to be traveling +-10 months out of the year. For three years.

Camping and hosteling is a significant portion of our accommodations.  Hiking 550 mile pilgrimage across Spain.  129 days on a cruise ship.

Similarly messaged to applicants, but in your case, the travel may trump the work.

Masters Degree or better.

Lack of significant other, seems like the only possible condition because of travel.

However, a couple with varied degree levels and specialties could also be a very attractive potential employee(s).

Different degree types e.g. Bachelor of Liberal Arts and MBA.

Degrees or experience that showcase the ability to be a "catchall" for educating, leading, advising, scrutinizing curriculum for quality and quantity, and more.

Acting inside your cohort, in the capacity of some type of administrative level position.  You are one of four cohort leaders, holding the responsibilities of deans of this and C-level administrators of that.

Cohort Leader vs. Professor

A majority of our courses are outsourced by accredited institutions.  In most instances the courses include professors, or industry leaders.

Depending on your specialty you may lead integrating our vast resources to the cookie-cutter classes we outsource.

You act as advisor for 16 candidates, and may lecture or lead group discussion or activity for 64.

Your significant contributions to the learning will come in the form of integrating different forms of pedagogical approaches.  Through preparation before cohort commences, begin to find ways to integrate constructivist, collaborative, reflective, integrative, and inquiry-based approaches.

Using Roger Schank processes to help move from subject-based education to cognition-based.

Utilize his guiding principles, conscious, subconscious, analytic, and mixed processes.

You will be expected to research and prepare original or improved courses/hours.  If you are not finding anything then you are not being Amazing.

You will share responsibilities of being on-call for whatever time periods you collectively choose, but let's face it, being on call in Hawaii or in Australia isn't really torture.

You will be allotted one week vacation for each half-year session.  The candidates' schedule includes a vacation week before returning for orientation - another nine days off.

During distance learning your work week will follow the same work week as the candidates, with significantly less responsibilities - primarily leading check-in points during a day, which can be split between leaders.

Current Positions Looking To Fill

I am looking for ....

four cohort leaders

Current dream team...

One Masters or better in curriculum design and assessment.

Likely, two financially degreed leaders.

Someone with a vast series of courses that is like a liberal arts specialist on steroids - must have masters at least, and make the argument how you can help The MAC be better at a rate prudently faster than other institutions could ever keep up.

Two bus drivers, with the constitution, energy, and vibe to be on the road as much as 10 months out of the year.

Gritty, with the ability to use the same accommodations as the candidates and cohort leaders.

"Utility" catchall office manager / executive secretary / personal assistant etc. ad infinitum

Food, lodging, special activities, 129 world day cruise, two other regional cruises, transportation costs, and more.  The line items are only budget, any excess is returned to the families.  Food, lodging and other travel are not compensated during the time off the road - this is really good because all those aforementioned expenses are tax free according to the "one year rule", and you only receive them about ten months of the year. Pretty cool right ??? !!!

Meanwhile our utility person and I are taking it on the chin paying for housing and eating - sad face here - ;(

You can make the college's contribution to a ROTH IRA up to 25% of your gross pay, and you personally can actually contribute more than that.

To be clear, you can distribute your income the way you like, but you must also allot for the business tax responsibilities as well, like FICA, SS, and unemployment etc.
